Located just steps from the vibrant heart of Streatham, our Fieldend Road project involved the transformation of a 1930s home that had remained untouched since the late 1970s. The property, while boasting the generous room sizes typical of its era, featured a layout and decor that were distinctly outdated. Notably, the kitchen and the home's sole bathroom were deemed inadequate for modern living standards.
Our client envisioned this property as the ideal family home, one that would be tailored to meet the specific lifestyle needs of his family. With this goal in mind, we embarked on a comprehensive redesign of both the ground and first floors. The renovation saw the ground floor reimagined to include a spacious reception area, an expansive kitchen/diner, a utility closet, and a cloakroom. The first floor was reconfigured to accommodate three bedrooms and a large family bathroom, enhancing the home's functionality and comfort.
Recognising the need for additional living space, our client opted to extend into the loft, creating a substantial en suite master bedroom. Furthermore, as someone who primarily works from home, the inclusion of a bespoke home office situated at the garden's end was a key feature of the project, designed to be both efficient and compliant with local regulatory standards.
